We planned for a rest day in the middle of our trip. Our resort was perfect with a great playground, pool and best of all beignets for breakfast! While everyone played at the pool, I did laundry. I wish I had packed planning to do laundry because we could have brought half our stuff. (we had a bit of an accident and had to do some laundry so I decided to go ahead and do it all) We headed to Downtown Disney that evening for dinner and shopping. One of the cool things about Port Orleans, is that you can take a boat to Downtown Disney. The kids loved riding the boat instead of the bus. We let the kids pick out a Lego kit and both boys chose a Cars version. They were so excited and wanted to open them right then.
Friendly Warning: if you have small kids, do not under any circumstances go to Rainforest Cafe for dinner. Seriously, terrible experience. We had crying, shaking kids. :-/ But if you don't have small kids, the food was pretty good, the 4 bites I got and the actual restaurant was really cool and well done.
Downtown Disney must do's:
Lego store
World of Disney for shopping
playground
pool time

Dragon and knight legos
The coolest lego structure
