photo shoot edited

I edited some of the pictures we had done at Portrait Innovations. Here are my favorites.

fun pictures

Here are just some random pictures from this past week. My friend Sarah took pictures of me with Zeke because she said there aren't any (which is kinda true).

Zeke looks angry, but he was yawning, really

my church is awesome

Yesterday our church family had an amazing experience where we saw God truly moving in a mighty way. I am so glad that J.D. is a man of God who isn't afraid to say what needs to be said. Across our 6 services, there were 140 people baptized yesterday. It was INSANE! I know some may be skeptical, but it was awesome! People who wanted to get baptized talked with someone to be sure they knew why they were getting baptized. We provided clothes for the people to get baptized in so they wouldn't have to get their clothes wet. Well, until we ran out of clothes that is. The clothes were black and they turned the water a nasty color, check out the pics. I was especially excited about one person who got baptized... Tori! This is my brother in law's girlfriend, who we adore. Yay, Tori!
The pics are out of order, the first is of Tori coming back up and then the next is where Spence introduced Tori.

State Fair- Shelton style

Spencer, Zeke and I were supposed to go to the fair Friday. Now, not everyone loves the fair, but I LOVE it! It is my most favorite time of the year. When I was in college, we would go mulitple times. So, when it turned out to be chilly with a chance of rain we decided to bring the fair to us. Spencer let me have $40 (our usual fair amount) to spend. I made homemade lemonade, corn dogs, french fries, and funnel cakes. I also bought ice cream and corn, but we did not have room for that. I think the fair experience was enjoyable for everyone. This does not mean that next year we won't go, but at least if anyone is in a pinch and needs a funnel cake, I can help you out.

photo shoot

This past Friday we headed out to Portrait Innovations for some family photos and for Zeke's first real pictures! We weren't able to get a great smile out of him because he is still not feeling top notch, but we got some good pictures anyway. In other news check out my hair cut, I just got it and LOVE it!

Big Pimpin'

This is how Zeke rolled at Young Pro's this week. He may be the coolest little boy out there. Baby girls watch out, he's gonna be a heart breaker.

8 weeks birthday party

Not the post I had planned to be my next, but...
This was how we spent our Friday night. Zeke has been with us for exactly 8 weeks and we ended up back where we started (sort of). I had a cold this week and ran a fever and ended up sharing with my son. On Friday he began running a temperature, so we called the dr and went in Friday afternoon. Because he is young and they couldn't find the source of the fever, they sent us the the ER for testing. They gave Zeke an iv of fluids, drew blood for testing, had a chest xray, and a lumbar puncture. After seeing his cultures, they decided to go ahead and give him antibiotics to be sure there was nothing going on. We finally got to leave after 10 pm. This morning we had to go back to the dr's office for more antibiotics. We have to go back tomorrow morning for another round and if the grown cultures come back clear again then we will be done with antibiotics. He was a champ through the whole thing! The pictures are pitiful. It was very scary just seeing our son hooked up to those machines. It made me realize how blessed and thankful I am that our son was born healthy. Thank you to everyone who knew what was going on and prayed, we definitely felt those prayers through out the evening and this morning.
Zeke napping while getting some fluids

This is the iv, they had to tape it up and fix his foot so that he couldn't move it.

This is after he got to eat (YAY!) and had gotten some fluid.

He is such a pleasant baby even while sick and in the hospital. All the nurses were going on about how cute he was and he just smiled at them.

On another note, he has been weighed again during all of this. He is now 13 lbs and 2 oz! He has doubled in his 8 weeks of life!
