Sitting up like a champ

Zeke is improving each day with his sitting up. For a kid that used to not bend, he is pretty awesome at it now. He really took off the day we had his 6 month pictures done. Now I can sit him up and he will stay there and play for a little while.
Just chilling
He loves that he can sit up and look at himself

He is such a big boy. Oh and I love this outfit, if you can't read it it says "Handsome... just like daddy"

Blanket, blankie, lovey

Zeke LOVES his blanket. When he was small we swaddled him. We actually swaddled him when he wasn't so small. We had to go buy large blankets so that we could continue swaddling. Zeke did grow out of being swaddled, but he still loves his blankets. I actually think they have contributed to his waking up happy now. Ridiculous maybe, but he generally always wakes up happy and didn't really before he started just sleeping with them. They are super soft and huge. We can take them anywhere for him to lay on and play. They are lightweight enough to cover his head and face outside if it is windy. Zeke is able to pull them off easily for peek-a-boo. Plus I got some super cute ones! Here is the question though... what should we call it? I feel obligated by all the cute other mommies that come up with cute names for things to call it something other than a blanket. But I am not sure how I feel about my son calling something a blanket or a lovey. Please submit your suggestions.

Anyone for spooning?

Zeke decided the other day that he wanted to feed himself. Being the first time parents that we are, we let him have a go at it. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He ate all the food with out fighting us. We just had to keep trading spoons so that he had one with food on it.

Lots of eating

Zeke had a few first this week with eating. He tried peaches, carrots and drinking from a cup for the first time. He liked the peaches, wasn't sure about the carrots, and loved the cup! I think he liked the cup because of how he could chew on it. Oh, and this week he has started biting down on the spoon while I tried to feed him. Fun, fun!

6 month pics

We went to Portrait Innovations Friday for Zeke's 6 month pictures. It was definitely the best picture session that we have ever had. There was seriously not a bad picture in the whole lot. It was really hard to narrow down from the 60-ish pictures, but we decided on 7 poses. Thankfully we get the cd so I can show him off a little.

Tooth

OK, so you have to make this big or zoom in, but you can see his tooth in this picture! And his second one broke through Friday! What a big boy!

Man chair

Zeke has enjoyed hanging out in his chair and his dad's chair this week. He feels more manly when he is in them.

Stretched out, chilling

"OOOO, what's this?"

Aren't those overalls cute?

Squash

Zeke tried squash for the first time last week. We haven't found a food that he does not like. I have made all of his food so far. I cook it and freeze it into 1 tbs cubes. Zeke is eating 2-3 cubes at each meal. So far, the foods we have tried are: rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, sweet potatoes, avocado, pears, and squash. Next on the list are peaches and carrots.

Believe

So, I know that ya'll know that I love our church. We are members and on staff with The Summit Church, in Durham, NC. We pretty much love it. This past Sunday made me love it even more. We are in the midst of a most amazing time in our church history. JD is preaching on how our purpose is people. You can read more here. Anyway, the reason I fell in love with our church all over again was this past week's message and video. Check it out. Think about it. What would your piece of cardboard say abou the change that Jesus has made in your life?

Shellie's dance

Shellie had a Valentine's dance at school. She went with her friend John. He really enjoyed taking lotsof pictures, especially when we added Zeke into the mix. :-)

6 month check up

No, picture for you. I just wanted to get you the newest stats on the boy. He is 19 lbs 3 oz - 75%, 27 in- 75%, and his head is in the 50%. So, basically we don't want to hear any more jokes about him having a big head because he is average. So there. But I am thinking that he might be slowing down on the weight gain since he has gone from 95% to 90% to 75% now. Good news, we don't have to rush out to buy a new carseat. Oh, and he is still the cutest kid around!

Ma, look what I can do!

Zeke and dad got to hang out for a while. Since Z has learned to roll over, he refuses to stay on his belly. No matter the situation...
