single parenting is for the birds

I definitely am not meant to do this on my own. Spence is out of town until Thursday night. Zeke and I are making it. We wanted to show Daddy that we were doing alright, so here are some pictures.

Zeke loves kisses from mommy

Zeke loves his daddy and misses him.

Look at that handsome outfit.

Check out those chubby cheeks!

4 months

Zeke turned four months on Monday! If you are thinking, wow this chic is a bit behind, I have a good reason. I wanted to wait to share Zeke's stats after his dr. appointment, which was today.
Zeke is 17.5 lbs which puts him in the 90% and 25.5 in which puts him in the 75%. So, I have myself a healthy boy! This week has been busy but fun...

Monday, Zeke fell asleep at the office while playing with Amber.

Zeke talked to daddy and mommy while pushing up on his boppy.
Zeke has learned to wiggle. He can turn himself around on this, especially after he gets to where he can push off with his foot on the rail thing of his play gym.
Today Zeke got to try his first taste of real food. YUM! Organic, brown rice cereal. Delish! He really did not do too badly as you can see from the video at the bottom. We are hoping this will turn into eating more cereal and sleeping more at night!

church funness (is that a word?)

I had to show some cute pictures of some of nursery babies.

Luke fell asleep while being strolled during church.

how sweet is this?

This is our worship pastor's son, Hudson. Check out his snarl.

Not sure why Hudson decided to wear an offering bucket...

Hudson L-O-V-E-S balls! This is definitely his favorite toy at church.

Shamgar

Shamgar is our 1 year old chocolate lab. He turned 1 December 1. We will have had him for a year January 12. Shamgar was our Christmas present from my parents last year. I had always said that we would get a house, then a dog, then have a baby. Little did I know that it would all happen in a 9 month period... Shamgar's name is from the Old Testament. In Judges 3:31 "After Ehud, came Shamgar, would slaid 600 Philistines with an ox goad." Spence says that Shamgar was obviously more manly than even Samson because he only needed one verse and Samson needed chapters. Thankfully Spence decided that a dog could be named this instead of our first child...
So, here is to Shamgar. Happy birthday (a little late), buddy!

Sweet innocent (this didn't last long)
4 months old
8 months old
1 year old, wrestling with Spence
The other dog is my parents 6 year old lab, Gabe.

Shamgar is on the right here, I can't believe that he is bigger than Gabe now!

Zeke this week

Zeke's bathtub had to be changed over to the older baby settings. He is way too long to lay in the hammock thing now. He enjoyed sitting up and having the water poured all over him. He definitely tried to drink the water if I poured it close to his face. Oh and this bath was a necessary bath after he had an explosion up to his SHOULDERS! (It was super fun to hear Spence from upstairs calling me "ummm, we're gonna need some help up here")
sitting up in his tub

So, I am not sure if Spence just didn't know if the picture was being taken, or if he was loving being a dad at the moment (remember the diaper changing experience from earlier), but Zeke looked pretty happy with life.
This is post bath, getting nice and warm

So, after all the Thanksgiving fesitvities, Matt and the Shelton boys got hard to work on a special surprise for Tori (Matt's girlfriend). Matt is an architect so he decided to make something.

Zeke is 4 months younger, but you would never know it.

After seeing the pictures of Zeke and Holt wrestling, Sophia decided to have a try.
